Workers update May 6, 20h00
Hello all
Thank you for volunteering for the 2025 Rally of the Voyageurs 2.0 this coming Saturday. I’ve attached a pdf of the workers and stage positions. This is mostly the workers on the stage itself, it does not include the course cars, the committee, most of the media or the stewards.
If you find you can’t make it to the event please let me know ASAP. We are tight for workers and will miss anybody who is signed up and can’t attend.
The weather looks good, about 16°C and sunny. I’m told the black flies aren’t out yet but come prepared with whatever chemicals and nets you prefer.
We will have an optional workers meeting on Wednesday evening by Webex (link below) at 7PM, followed by the competitors novice meeting at 8PM The Wednesday meeting is just for information and any questions you may have.
Our formal marshalls meeting will be at 10AM at the Headquarters, probably in the pavilion near Hwy 507. We’ll hand out packages there and distribute some T-Shirts we have. If you want to drop into HQ ahead of that and let us know you are here we can check you off the list and that will speed things up at the 10AM meeting. Damian is heading up the workers as chief control marshall.
After the meeting you’ll head out to the stage and get in position, you need to be in position by 11:15 at the latest so we can start locking the stage down. Watch out for traffic on the stage and drive carefully.
You’ll be in the stage all afternoon and should be done by 5:30. Bring a lunch, snacks and drinks. We are having a casual dinner after the rally at HQ, so drop by after to grab a bit of supper and perhaps chat with the competitors and other workers.
If you have HAM radio our frequency will be 146.580 simplex. A scanner is good if you have one.
Some of you have indicated you will help out with stage setup on Friday. If you get there before 11AM go to the HQ, after 11 go to the stage and find Ross.
Thank you so much for all your help.

The rally is back on and scheduled for May 10, everything else remains the same. That is Mother Day weekend which may affect the availability of some of the workers. We’ll be contacting everybody who signed up to see if they are available for our new date.

The HQ will be open on Friday from about Noon to 9PM, and Saturday 7AM to 7PM.
If you are arriving on Friday during the day to help with setup go to the stage road directly if you are arriving after 11AM . There will be people at the HQ all day.
For Saturday we’re going to have a short workers meeting at the HQ (probably at the pavilion if the weather is OK) at 10:00. This meeting is mostly to confirm we have the people we expect and make last minute adjustments. Please check in with Amber inside the HQ before the meeting so she can confirm you made it there and all the waivers are in place. We have a limited number of ROV T-shirts to give away to the workers.
After the meeting we’ll head out to get set up on the stage. We want everybody in place by about 11:00 so we can sweep the stage for safety and get the course cars on route. The first rally car should start the stage at 12:14. They go in and out twice, there is a short service break about 2:30 and then they do it all again and get finished about 5:30
We’re going to have a casual dinner at the end of the rally back at the HQ, it’ll be Pork Schnitzel and Jumbo Hot dogs catered by “The Catch” and sponsored by Morton Equipment.
The Catch is a take-out Burger Stand about 600M north of the HQ and is open on Friday and Saturday 7AM to 6PM if you want to get breakfast or lunch. Also, as you approach Hwy. 507 from the south there is a store and gas station at Flynn’s turn where you can stock up on snacks and drinks (and fuel).
The weather for the weekend is pretty variable. Google predicts partly cloudy and a high of 20° for Friday and Saturday but come prepared to be out in almost any weather.
If you have HAM radio the primary frequency will be 146.58 simplex with a secondary frequency of 146.55. There is an upgraded repeater about 18km away that might work for some people, it’s VE3TJR 147.015+ with a 162.2 tone. Perhaps you can program your radio to that frequency ahead of time in case it has coverage of the area.
We’ll have a webex meeting for the workers at 7PM on Wednesday May 7 if you have any questions. It’s not necessary to attend, it’s just an opportunity to chat if you need more information ahead of Saturday when things tend to get rushed.
